12 Blues Studies for Plectrum Guitar
Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Contemporary Fingerstyle, Celtic, Classical, Rock
Begins with the basic 12 Bar Blues in A. New technical difficulties are added to each study, such as turnarounds, the hammer-on, pull-off, double-stopping, slide, 12/8 feel, 4/4 feel. The aim is to build up co-ordination and fluency without the help of backing tracks. They should be practised as solo guitar pieces. Once confident of them, improvisation should be introduced to bring the pieces alive. This can be achieved by mixing the ideas learnt in the studies. |
